If there were no words My mind knew Thoughts were only pictures Of the things my eyes had seen You would be the matching picture For the sunrise If I had no eyes to see Had no pictures to match Yet ears to hear Your equivalent might be The singing of birds In the trees Along a rippling brook If I had no seeing eyes Nor hearing ears Only advantage Touch Your comparison Would Be even greater More overwhelming Than a drink of cold water In the desert heat Or a morsel of food At the edge of starvation With no words, no eyes, no ears Your touch Just possibly might Be comparable To life fulfilled and renewed By a bountiful supply Of oxygen With you When all else fails I breath Inhaling Your love No other Sensory or communication Systems Needed |

Oh, how beautiful is this poem of a lover to the beloved. Rose, This is so romantic, I love it. I had to read it a couple of times. the way it flowed, lovely. "I breathe inhaling your love". wow...Ellie< !signature--> 02 [This message has been edited by ellie LeJeune (edited 05-20-2000).] |

Septsong This jaded old trouper doesn't normally respond to "romance",, but this has an elegant, simple sweetness that is very real. beautiful job Ricardo |

I have often wondered what our thought system would be like without ability of words, thought it must be like as I tried to describe here, memories of what I eyes had seen. Allicram you are right this could be applied to both human personal level and spiritual level also, as I wrote it I thought of my husband, but then as I read it I thought how well it applied in a spiritual sense to the our love relationship with God, much like the Song of Soloman's message can be taken. I am moved by all of your comments. |

Thank God for the gift of words so we can express our appreciation for such a marvolusly written poem with such depth of meaning. How often do we include that as we recount our blessings before Him? Very good indeed, David "GOD GIVES- but man must open his hand." (German Proverb) |
