What is love really? Is what we call love, only complacency or fear of change and the unknown and unfamiliar. Do we dare to be still long enough to search the motives of our hearts, where the soul, and the Spirit of God challenge us to love as He loves, with kindness, with thoughtful ways, and most of all, with passion. And if so, the final test question, that answers His call to love: Would we give our Life for the Beloved? 02 |

Your poem here Ellie- strikes at the heart and I believe hits the target dead center. So much that is passed off for love-just doesn't measure up!And how easy it is to have the profession without the possession. "My litle children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue, but in deed and in truth" (I John 3:18). Your poem here is a call back to the true essence and substance of Love--to which I say, Bravo--or should that be, Amen & Amen? David |

Ellie, You ask some excellent, soul searching questions, If we are commanded to love, we first know what Love is! No greater love has a man than He that lay down his life for his friends. Thank you for this thoughful and relevent poem. Dennis :^) |

Ellie, So right on! It is so easy to think we have love, but when tested love is only a fraction of emotions found. When the "other" emotions over-ride the love, our heart is not where it should be. Only after we realize this can we then allow Jesus to clean our heart up, restore and remove the junk in there. I can say this with boldness, for I have just described my heart and the ongoing process of Jesus to clean it up. Our son, in drug rehab. now, my trial. So filled with what I said was love, yet, wanted to lash out to him in anger, hurt, pity. With prayers for me, Jesus is giving me a new heart, so I can only have love for our son, Jim, as Jesus will have to heal him as He is healing my heart. Thank you for this poem. Thank you for allowing me to vent and testify of Jesus replacing my own heart. I ask prayers for our son Jim,he needs to give his life to Jesus. Blessings, Marcy |

Ellie these are some terrific questions. Especially in a day and age of failed relationships. Most are stuck in the "feeling" of the moment. For the greatest of all is Love. And God is love, and I agree with all the rest of the statements above. Send this in to your paper or somewhere. This needs to get out there! ![]() |
