On a moonless night the spirits dance The fires sweep the priestess prance Hollowed logs deep beat the soul The pounding feet will pay the toll The crickets preach, the owls speak Embers glow along the mountains peak On this plateau its the belief That angels come and grant relief The air is dry, the woman ill The bowl so empty, nothing will fill A parade of screams and raising hands Entice the spirits to revive these lands A cloudless morning up with the sun So long a night awake no one The new day spills across the earth Revealing to all of its rebirth The crickets listen, the owl did too When awoke, the land cheered for all was new |

Welcome WHB! The land cheered for all was new! I love this poem. It's flow was great, and the imagery well done. One day this earth will return to its original formation, I can only imagine the beauty ![]() <*\\\>< Our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become. |

WHB, Great poem! Say, that wouldn't happen to be one of my Assembly of God or Penecostal Sisters, would it?(lol). I can say that, 'cause that would include me too! I really liked this poem. Thanks, marcy |

Dear Wobbly Head Bob, What a wonderful scheme of life and spiritualism! I really liked the flow of it, like a stream becoming a mighty river that tumbles over the edge of a waterfall, then to calm again upon the shores of rebirth. Inspiring! ^_^ LadySofia "To the innocent and ancient ones, the sparks which light our fires." Amanda Piatt |

There is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened. This however, is a beautifully written poem and I hope to read more soon! God bless you! WHB, This is a vivid description of devout spiritual expression with expectation of Divine interaction. Most cultures realize that there is a Force bigger than ourselves and seek to worship and appease this entity for favor and blessings. Your poem is well written with such wonderful imagery and flow. I look forward to more of your work here. Dennis :^) |
