They Came They came to wish him fond farewell To make his heart aware In gentle, calm benevolence They came to say a prayer The first said you will be with Him, In lonely steps you plod The hand to cut and heal the flesh It is the Hand of God The second said may comfort ease Your spirit and your mind Your path has been determined By a God who’s good and kind The third said ask not mercy for yourself But through Christ’s name Though we are not deserving God will answer just the same They left him there to ponder All the things that they had said The words that from the wellspring Of the Bible had been fed He went with comfort in his heart To face his dreaded fight Not asking mercy for himself Nor questioning his plight On wings of love and Jesus’ Name The three of them so gently came Elizabeth Santos [This message has been edited by Elizabeth Santos (edited 05-11-2000).] |

Hi Elizabeth, Your beautiful poem left me with two messages of love. Our mind and heart set as we go forward, knowing He is in control, asking nothing, and totally submissive to His will. The other message I received was, where there are two or three gathered, praying and asking in Jesus name, Thy will be done. Thank you for this love, faith and submissive message written so heartfelt. marcy |

Thanks for joining us Liz! I love this verse... The third said ask not mercy for yourself But through Christ’s name Though we are not deserving God will answer just the same Though all of them are great ![]() This was beautiful Liz and I'm really glad to chose to share this with us! <*\\\>< Our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become. |

My dearest Lizzie~ Comfort comes with the tender showing of His mercy ... 'He went with comfort in his heart To face his dreaded fight Not asking mercy for himself Nor questioning his plight' God blesses in ways we do not always understand ... I love you, my gentle friend. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |
