the answer what a blessing, the undressing of the soul on life's long highway; looking deep, evading sleep, watching stars upon the skyway... fighting wars upon the shores of fate's unchartered byway. look inside, you cannot hide from that of which you dread... hope is grim, your strength grows dim and weary steps you tread; your burden too great with so much weight of what was never done or said. how to know which way to go when answers are not there; who can say what price you'll pay for solitude's despair? left alone with the great unknown, you turn to the heavens in prayer. you are wise, you've opened your eyes and gaze clearly at what you see the smell of a flower, a fresh rain shower, an azure sky, a bumblebee, mockingbirds exchanging words in the heart of a live oak tree. blackberries growing wild, the trust of a child, wind whistling through the trees a juicy peach, a sandy beach, waves rolling in with the breeze you now understand God's mighty hand and you fall to the earth on your knees Oh God! you plead, now I see, your beauty does surround, trusting in you is so easy to do, as your gifts are all around... then you bow your head and give thanks instead for the answer that you've found. I LOVED this poem!!! The imagery and words were absolutely wonderful! My favorite stanza is: "you are wise, you've opened your eyes and gaze clearly at what you see the smell of a flower, a fresh rain shower, an azure sky, a bumblebee, mockingbirds exchanging words in the heart of a live oak tree." *This is a very powerful line I must say! I was captured from beginning to end. Take care, AMY ![]() ~Live today as though it were your last but prepare for tomorrow as though it were here~ |

Linda~ A lovely reminder of the gifts He has given us. We need to remember to go to Him in our joy ... thanking Him for the gifts ... as often as we go to Him in need. Thank you for sharing these thoughts. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |
