The Song of a Flower The song of a flower may never be heard It grows sweet and lovely with never a word And yet in its silence our spirits are stirred Upon every mountain and valley we plod Every flower that slowly comes up through the sod Was carefully sculptured and painted by God He gave it a perfume to sweeten the air And made honey nectar for bumble bee’s fare Then dabbled it’s colorful blooms everywhere The yellows of daffodil, crimson of rose The blue of forget-me-not quietly shows As beautiful blossom so silently grows The voice of a flower may never be heard Like twittering sounds of a warbling bird For it grows sweet and lovely with never a word Elizabeth Santos [This message has been edited by Elizabeth Santos (edited 04-17-2000).] |

How often I stand in my garden gazing at my flowers, so excited about young buds, daring them to bloom in front of me! (My family thinks I'm nuts) Your poem is the exact reason I do this - you've put my sentiment into words, and for this I thank you! Lovely poem. |

Oh Elizabeth, I just love this poem. It says so much to me. Silent yet strong, beautiful yet unseen. I love this. God Bless, Marcy PS: you truly are gifted with poetry and God's love abounds in your words. |

This is another lovely poem, LIZ, from at heart attuned to the beauties of nature and the glories of God. Like the flowers you refer to, this too is a sweet song of loveliness. Dear Liz; You are so very gifted and this poem proves the point. How lovely to think of the silent beauty of a flower. God's Grace is silent too. I so look forward to every poem you write! So much beauty in your poems. Love, Ellie 02 |

Liz I can't say enough about this one. I had to read the first verse over a couple times and let it absorb in and when it did WOW! So true ![]() This poem itself is soul stirring Liz! Beautiful, beautiful! May I send this one out also? <*\\\>< When you can't make up your mind, Which way is right for you, Stop and softly ask yourself, "What Would Jesus Do?" |

This is truly beautiful! I love flowers...the spring is my favorite time...as i see one after the other spring up and bloom...sometimes I don't even know what they will look like!! (I planted perennials last year that someone gave me...it's such a joy when each bloom opens and shows the surprise!) Good poem! ![]() |

Amen to all the deserved raves above. God's quiet awesome nature is somewhat repeated in your vivid description of the flowers. I feel so privilaged to read this. Thank you, Rae |

The flower may not be heard, but you just put words to it, and they sounded loud and clear, what a beautifully descriptive piece of work. I really enjoyed this piece. |
