Once upon a new spring morning, A beautiful red robin was busy building her perfect nest. Her neighbor, the little brown wren, was building hers all wrong. So the robin felt it her duty to show the little wren exactly how it was done. "Your nest is too small", said the robin knowingly. The little wren looked at the robin with kindness and said, "It's just the right size for me". The beautiful robin was indignant! For she was very sure her opinions were always the right ones. Then one lovely Spring dawn, as the robin began to sing her song, it was only a small "peep". She became very frightened. The little wren was trilling sweetly on the next branch. "what has happened to my song", said the robin, Little wren said, " you cannot sing your song, because you have forgotten Who created you and His perfect will for you". And so, beautiful robin bowed her head in shame. And she remembered. All the beauty her heavenly Father had given her. She looked to heaven and asked, "Father forgive me, I have strayed. Please fill me once more with only Your Will. For I have lost my song under these prideful ways". Easter morning dawned, clear and bright. As Mary approached the tomb, there sitting atop the rolled away stone, a robin sang her glorious song! 02 |

WOW oh WOW, what a beautiful poem you have written here, Ellie. You are surely in true form today. And while it is an amusing story you tell--I hope the message behind it is also clearly seen and felt. Pride goes before a fall, but if we humble ourselves to God, He can and will lift us up. Thank you Dear friend, a wonderful piece here! David "Our Creativity points to a Higher Creator--we couldn't have just happened, and for what ability we may possess--to God be the glory." -dlw- |

Ellie this is fantastic! I was just thinking on the same page the other day. Sort of, I was thinking of the birds and how they don't sit atop their branches and wonder, where is my breakfast coming from...how will I do this, or that. They depend on God, and they know He will feed them. It just reminded me of that when I read this. Very thought provoking! |

Dear Ellie, What can I say that hasn't already been said by the others. Beautiful poem, your insite into how we sometimes forget that the Lord our God is the One who knows all. He is also the only One to judge, but no matter what we do wrong He fogives us if we go to Him. Thanks for another great poem. May your song always be glorious to the Lord. Bless you, Erie "The grace of the Lord be with you all." - Rev. 22:16 "Oh that I had wings like a dove! For then I would fly away and be at rest." - Psalm 55:6 Erie |
