((This is for a dear friend of mine)) I've always had a very difficult time Knowing whether to Stand Up or Flee, It seems like I'd have the wisdom But somehow it e'er eludes me. I want in my life to be Gentle A kind, caring Christian to be, But when do I stand up and say "NO! You just can not walk over me!" I know if I'm standing with You, Lord I'm assured I am standing for Right, Thou who twice showed righteous indignation In cleansing the Temple site! My feelings, Lord t'ward you are Tender Yet in ways, You want me to be Tough, Lord, help me find Answers and Courage In the right time and way to say "Enough!" Lord, I know you understand my problems You, Yourself were treated unkind by men, And yet in the height of your agony You could pray, "Father, forgive them!" Let me learn in Your Humble Submission And also find in You Boldness of Faith, To repel all the devil's advances And yet to remain in Your Grace. I see in myself, there a likeness With a tenderness that can be tough, But all in all, Love for God remains Lord, in all may I show the Right Love. I know there are no easy answers But dear Lord, I will trust You today, Let my actions and thoughts reflect Yours And in truth, for my foes, let me pray! "Our Creativity points to a Higher Creator--we couldn't have just happened, and for what ability we may possess--to God be the glory." -dlw- |

Very sincere poem written from the heart, those are the kind I like the best. It's message kind of blooms in your heart as you read it. |

Dear David. I truly love this poem. The ongoing battles of the heart and trying to do God's will. Trying to follow his example really reminds us how human we are. The poem itself is a gentle encouragement wisely written. Sincerely Rwood |

Oh David, how I can relate to this! Always feeling mean or something if you were to say NO! Well, God says it all the time, only for our good. Maybe we should think about the reasons we say no...just a thought, one I need to think about as well! Excellent work as always my friend! <*\\\>< There's only two ways you can go... One way you can save your riches, And the other will save your soul. Rich Mullins |

It is, indeed, a difficult line to find (when enough is enough). Seems I'm giving the benefit of the doubt still when the writing 's been on the wall for some time. I so appreciate this posting and I nearly missed it. Thank you, David, for another very well written post to lead us in the right direction. |
