The vessel lay there broken
no more of any use
once someone's pride and joy
it had suffered much abuse.

But the master potter
happened to walk this way
and He saw the broken vessel
on the ground there, where it lay.

With hands so kind and gentle
he crushed and formed new clay
he molded the new vessel
the one you see today.

So if you too feel hopeless
and your dreams are shattered too
let Jesus mend your broken vessel
He can give new life to you!

Michael...I am glad the poem could be of some help to you. But please, all thanks for this poem goes to the Lord above who gave me the inspiration to write it, after he changed my life this past week! Thank you for reading it, and I am glad you got soething out of it!

Man, He sure is working through you two in your poetry! That is wonderful! I can't think of the place but the field where they threw the broken pottery the shards. Where He fixes all and makes it useful again.
Very Biblical Echo thanks for listening when He inspired you! Ahhh, it just now hits me hours later. THE POTTERS FIELD!

Rebecca...God is working in me everywhere, I feel so wonderful...I can't explain it though. He took that broken vessel I was not too long ago and totally reformed me into what I am now. I feel like a totally different person, and I have the good Lord above to thank! "The Broken Vessel" is a poem I hope shows other people that God can help them in their lives too, that if they feel hopeless Jesus can give them a whole new life cause He can mend their broken hearts, he sure did for me!

Just browsing through the "old" stuff in here. Had to send this upfront so others could see how blessed you are in your writing! (Don't argue)

Dear Echo (God Bless you,dear),
It is only after that we have been broken from the futilities of our own ways, thoughts and deeds--that He can- remake us, renew us and give us a new start and a new lease on life.(2 Corinthians 5:17)says a lot to me- I hope it speaks to you as well.  David

This is exquisite, and very moving.  I've been that broken vessel too.  If not for Jesus, I would be completely lost.  Thank you for this wonderful poem!
