PLEASE

Please, Lord grant me peace of mind
In this, my time of trial.
Please grant me serenity in kind,
To face tomorrow with a smile.

Please erase the selfishness and greed
That has plagued me since my birth.
Please, show me Lord how to fill this need
To somehow be of worth.

Please allow me to forgive others
As you have forgiven me.
For only in forgiveness of my brothers
Will I from this burden ever be free.

Please remind me of each blessing
You have brought into my life,
So I won't be left lost or guessing,
Being a cause to my own strife.

Most of all, I pray, please move in me,
Through all I say and do.
That those I've hurt may view me differently,
That this may somehow glorify you.

Michael

This is wonderful Michael! Such a beautiful heartfelt prayer. Its so easy to go through such things on our own and end up with a different outcome then we so wanted, but when we ask the Lrod for his help the outcome will be blessed and wonderful! Thank you for sharing this with us!

Michael,
Just when I am thinking of just giving up on my faith, you come along with this little golden nugget disguised as a poem when it is actually the sound of crying out to the Lord for help. I am so thankful you wrote this and even more thankful that He showed it to me. Thanks for listening to that still small voice. Sometimes I can't hear it, but when I see it I recognize it.

The Lord does work for others don't He? Loved it Michael! Why this part is sticking with me I don't know, but as for forgiveness, it doesn't necessarily mean forgetting. We will remember but forgiveness is something else. With forgiveness we can begin to heal.
Great prayer and I see it has helped others. God Bless you!

A very good poem, Micheal...gives me something to think about in this time of pathetic self-pity.

This really touched me Michael....so glad to see you looking in the right direction for guidence - prayer and faith are so much better than looking into the shadows for help and peace...they only bring lonliness and fear. You're on the right track babe. You know I love you, and we will both have to be strong, thus it does my heart good to see you in the light. I love you, as does our God...you are always in my prayers.

Is there a lesson, Michael in Piece of mind as versus peace of mind? I don't know if that is what you were getting at--but I do know that He alone can truly put Lifes pieces together into a beautiful whole--as always--wonderful job!

No, deleeme, just a freudian slip there I must think..."piece of mind"...where'd that come from? hehe...I'm glad you caught that, and you are absolutely right, He alone can put life's pieces back together though. Thank you, deleeme and thank you to everyone for your comments.
