Death is not a terrible thing
When Jesus died He took the sting.
Its not an end but a new beginning
To a brand new life and no more sinning.
For death is a transfer of your soul
From the flesh it rises and to Heaven it goes.
It's a time of beauty and of rest
We'll all be there from worst to best.
For before our flesh goes in the ground
Our very soul is Heaven bound.
No more sickness no more death
No more hurts or lies to repress.
It's a time of freedom to be released
From all the sickness and joy is increased.
For death can be a wonderful thing
In a world more pure, we'll want to sing.
It's a time that we all will see
And with our LORD will we be.
At death our flesh becomes history
For it's in Jesus we have the victory.

"O death, where is thy sting?"
"O grave, where is thy victory?"

Indeed, WhtDove, death and the grave are powerless over the spirit. Jesus faced these for us and in Him is the Victory. Good poem.

Very good!! Death is not the enemy, actually, but the fear of death, which paralyzes us from living. With the attitude adopted in this poem-that fear is crushed & dissolved.

Rebecca...Indeed a great poem! I thank God for taking that sting when He died for us all. Great job, thank you for sharing!
