Lessons Learned

Of all the things life and time have taught me-
The hardest lessons learned...
have been the ones of just simply letting go.

Needing to be right, getting my way, questioning-demanding why.
Doubting the answers when I couldn't understand-
Angry at the reasons-when there were no easy solutions.

Promises made, promises lost, promises were just pretty lies,
Who can I trust, who stands by me-offering true dedication,
Where do I find unconditional love ... if not from those I give this to-
(should I settle for anything less)

Finding my step, coming in to my own, finally getting my stride,
Accept what I cant change, turn the other cheek-simply rise above,
Learn from my mistakes, live in the moment, let the hold of the past fade.

Gone is the anger, the need to be right-I'm so much better when I'm wrong,
Turn to me for the answers, try to get past the need for the reasons,
Find strength in faith, trust my heart to know-when its time-for simply letting go.

How touching, it sometimes seems that the hardest lessons are those of letting go, but by letting Him in, we learn....beautiful words, thank you for sharing them.

Wonderful!  You've explained just right. Letting go is the hardest thing. We give it to Him and seem to always take it back. Why? Maybe because we don't think He answers fast enough, or is it because we think we can do better?  It reminds me of a story, and I don't know if I'll get this just right, but the point is important anyway...

A man was standing at the edge of a cliff when he slipped and fell. He caught on to a small branch on the way down and was clinging for dear life.  He yelled, HELP is there anybody up there?

God answered and said, I am here, let go!

The man says, Is there anybody else up there that can help me?

We ask for his help but are not always willing to let go and do what it takes for him to help. Wonderful poem Janet!< !signature-->

Which way is right for you,
Stop and softly ask yourself,
What Would Jesus Do?

You have this right on Janet.  Let Go and Let God is probably the thing I most frequently tell myself only to go back to worrying.  I am going to print this and plaster it to my bathroom mirror as an early morning reminder.   Thanks,  This is wonderful.  In His Love, Anita

Beautiful writing, hits the nail on lthe head.  I kept glancing back at the title, as I've learned this lesson again and again and again, or maybe I still haven't learned it.  Thank you.

Just wonderful, a poem full of meaning and truth. It is hard to let go, hard to face our self, but through Gods love we can stand tall, stand strong, and stand right.
Thanks Sandy

Janet Marie; Letting go is one of the most difficult things for believers.  I have wrestled with this, and wonder why it is so difficult.  We trust Him to save us from the consequences of sin, and take us to heaven someday; so why are we not willing to trust Him for the everyday circumstances of life?  One of the comments was, "I have learned this lesson over and over."  I believe that was a very honest person, for it's probably something we all have to learn over and over. I sometimes wonder if the Lord is shaking His head at the way I bumble around and try to help Him out by taking back those things I think I have given to Him.  Bless you for writing this very thought provoking poem.  I loved it..Wanda

Letting go...
What an easy thing to say.
However how hard we all tried
To be removed from stinks.
Time...
Is the way it should be.
However how comfort that might sound
How often a piece of glasses
Bring back the thorns to the heart.
Reconcile with my thoughts,
Knowing time for leave
Is better than fancy.
