I walked to the now fading garden,
With flowers wilted and worn,
Color used up through summer,
Petals ~ tattered and torn;
It seemed there was no beauty,
No roses glistening dew,
Just shades of gray all around,
Then I turned ~ and I saw You;
Leaves of the season were drifting down,
Dancing about where You dwelt,
Billowing sleeves of Your white robe,
Beckoned me to come, as You knelt;
Suddenly colors were bursting,
Blazing crimson and burnished gold,
Bittersweet shades of autumn,
Adorning this new season's hold;
The hillside off in the distance,
Came to life with a wave of Your hand,
You created a perfect masterpiece,
As the colors changed on command;
We stood there shoulder to shoulder,
Then You gave a warm embrace,
Took my sighs and worries,
And filled me with Your grace;
Of course You showed, as only You could,
That I could stay in the dreary gray,
Or I could walk to Your side in the garden,
And give all my burdens away.

Bonnie, I really loved this. Each of God's seasons has so much to offer and embrace.

Bonnie:  This is wonderful!  I was just thinking this morning, that it's hard to mourn the passing of the summer flowers, when there are such gorgeous autumn colors
on display. Thanks for sharing your "vision".

Ah, Bonnie, you take my breath away with this glorious poem...your usual flair of  Grace and beauty as you write of our Lord in all His Love and Glory! Hugs my friend, Ellie
