Payment Onto Death
By: Noah Eaton
8/16/02

"All things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets."
The Gospel of Matthew Matt 7:12, Luke 6:31

I see fear in the hearts of our children
Watch them fall to their knees
Yearning to have the eyes to see
Through the lungs of Empathy
A reason for each coming season...

Through all these lines and circles there's something collateral
Alms to benefit the blind
A burning light that shan't subside
That my elders convinced me to find
As I place a bet onto the pleasure principle

And I reveal all my scars
Displaying my sins and tears at His knees
Which with that tourniquet stops the bleeding
Preaching forgiveness, preaching penitence my soul feasts
Nurturing my fragile wandering spirit like a scarf

Now I share my findings exclusively
Teaching to love openly with no boundaries or restrictions
It's another day, another dollar so resolute the infirmities
Teaching to live and live well as an applied mortgage
To forgive and respect as an interest
Is living proof, and proof of living

So treat others as you would like to be treated
For the more love you give, the more you will collect
Wear your heart on your sleeve, wear Truth like an intaglio or bracelet
Give unto others and you will be free and free of debt
Live to love, live to smile, live to sing is true payment onto death
Follow His word, and with promise you'll be greeted...

"Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..."

Shakira

Dear Mistletoe.  It is nice to read your poetry, but I can't see this yellow against the blue.  I'll try again tomorrow when my eyes are not so tired.  Love, Joyce

Ah, I see I am among the blessed, Noah, and that you have changed the color of your font since Joyce came in to read.

my favorite line:

wear Truth like an intaglio or bracelet

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Noah:  How wonderful the word intaglio explains yourself in this writing. Thank you for not being afraid to share your innermost self with all of us! One Arm
