(This is a poem based on when I first turned to the Lord at age 13 after suffering from depression)

Hey Jesus
By: Noah Eaton
2/18/02

Hey Jesus...
It's me, one of your Singing Sparrows
I come to you to ask for guidance
I'm sorry if I have failed to notice you before
I'm sorry if I have stumbled among the black sheep
Please forgive me if I have ever caused you trouble

Hey Jesus...
Are you available today?
I apologize if I have interrupted you
But I need you so badly
I have been lying here underneath this acacia tree
It seems like Groundhog Day is an antithesis
I anxiously wait for the spring to come to the southland
I have been planting forget-me-nots for every broken heart
In the scourings of my youth
My throat is parched under the desert sun
Will I ever find...
Will I ever find my promisedland?

Hey Jesus...
It's just me
I only wish I could talk to you more often before
I could sure use a hug right now
I could sure use a shoulder to cry over
I could really use an adumbration
I have been on the run for greener pastures
I have been trying to hold off the undertow
I have been trying to build a birdhouse of promise
To harbor myself from the sorrow
To find a sancturay of inner-peace

Hey Jesus...
I ask of you for a favor
Will you be my savoir too?
I come to you with your friendship
I yearn to behold a coronation with my dreams
All I ask for is for your guidance
I just want to find a decent melody
So I can be convinced I belong
I promise I will make up for what I've wasted
I will always claim to believe in you and your Father
I will always love you with all my heart
I will always bleed for you...

Hey Jesus...
Can you hear me?
Or will I have to wait until I die
To schedule an appointment with you?
For I will continue to believe
Yes, you are hovering just over me as I weep
An umbrella shielding me from the rain of sin
Embracing me
Because you truly care
Because you truly ARE...

"Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..."

Shakira

Noah,

A wonderful and heartfelt conversation here between you and God... Fret not gentle sparrow for you were never intended to sing the mundane melodies of the other song birds for you have a gentle heart and song within which has always been your special gift to call your own...  Sing on little sparrow...  Sing on for God's eyes are and have always been upon the sparrow.  God bless you my poet friend and thank you for sharing your testimony.  -Bob

Noah... Surely there is a pair of golden wings waiting for you in heaven, because God spared you from your depression to sing his praises and spread his name... Paul

Noah sweetie, I love this and the way you refer to yourself as a 'singing sparrow.'

You keep singing and Jesus will keep listening and walking beside you.

Hugs, Marti

Oh, this is wonderful! I can really relate to this. Jesus just always comes to us in the darkest times, doesn't He? Well... maybe it's that we go to Him during the dark times. He's always there. This is a wonderful tribute to His love. He will always always always always always be there!!

Noah~
This is such a touching and obviously heartfelt piece.
You've written this beautifully.
Jesus is always there for us when we need Him,
and even when we forget that we need Him.
Thank you for sharing this, Noah.

I can related to that, for I'm depress right now... hoping to find life in Him, to like to pray. I want to hear his answer without knowing how...

Good work! It's good to look at the past with peace.
