The Harvest

Truck after truck and big load after load
Of new flower bulbs going past my home.
Little brown orbs of such nondescript traits
No clue to the beauty of next years's bloom.

Planted last fall to survive in the ground,
Emerging in April with lovely hues.
Harvesting thousands of tulip bulbs to
Be sent world-wide for the gardener's use.

Perhaps in the fall when you buy some bulbs,
You will select these from our Skagit fields.
You'll have a gloriously blooming spring,
When you plant the bounty our harvest yields.

Our lives would be more like the tulip bulbs
Covered with dirt and not pretty to see;
If God were not there for the harvesting
To polish the beauty in you and me.

Joyce,

Thank you for your geographic reference.  Sounds like a beautiful place to live with fields covered with blooming bulbs of tulips and gladiolus...  Well at least in my mind's eyes.  Such a wonderful reminder found in your words that one plants and another waters, but it's GOD who brings the harvest.  What a blessing it is to be surrounded in this world by so many lovely blooming souls of various form and color.  Hope you had a nice week off.  GOD bless.

Dear Everyone, Thanks for your comments while I was off at my convention.  Yes, I live in the Northwest corner of Washington state with absolutely  the most beautiful surroundings at all times and especially in the spring with the tulip, iris, daffodil and ever expanding into other type flower fields.  Joyce
