Lord, why must I cry? "When I tried to understand all this, it was oppressive to me" NIV Psalms 73:16 As we walk through our days looking at clocks Does anything make much sense in our view? Ev'rything we see seems a paradox Nothing at all seems clear although it's true. Nicest people seem to receive most pain And bums seem to get all of the best breaks And ev'ry time it's time to play, it rains O God why are we cursed with all these aches? Is it true judgement day will someday come? Your sweet joy will repay us for all love Seems that ev'ry time I follow your Son Thunder sounds as lightning strikes from above. And yet when I dwell on everything Count my blessings; be happy in my rain For a moment I enjoy, as angels sing Then quickly I return to meet my pain. I cannot understand why I must cry These bitter tears just make me want to die. Lord, why must I cry?
