In the Hope of Spring

Early morning rain
grays up the sky;
puddles dance the clouds
as blue birds fly on by.

The hour is serene
as pebbles sparkle in the light;
leaves both tall and green
glisten still and bright.

Dew drops trickle all around
on flowers and on trees;
quiet  moments resound
sending me upon my knees.

These hours of solitude
are for me a peaceful thing;
they take away harsh agony
and the warring world's heavy sting.

Images that permeate the news,
bring a cry for all mankind,
to lose its greedy wring
and its insanity of mind.

Will you join, with me,
in a likeness of spring,
with a raining of prayers
to put war in a sling;

immobilizing vanity,
paralyzing arms that hate,
giving Earth a sense of peace
before we find that it's too late.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Beautiful prayer in a loving poem.
I too long for spring and newness of life. To see an end to worldly strife.

Dear VAS,  Sounds like you're having a wet spring like ours.  We must all pray for an end to these terrible wars.  If only mankind would accept His blessed message of love and peace. A wonderful prayer. Love, Joyce

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Virginia, this is so very powerful, sweet friend, my heart too always aches so much hearing the news I just dion't want to hear it anymore! (sad sigh) May we all embrace the spring and hold true the flowers that sprout from the ground and watch as nature renews to possess hope that peace in the world can also! (sigh) We all love you so much, sweet friend, I join you in this heartfelt prayer! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Virginia, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

VAS:  Such a touching poem! I was thinking along these same lines early this morning. It was so peaceful and the birds were singing, even in the rain.  I was comparing the world i was seeing with what is happening across the ocean and it was impossible to reconcile the two.

A wonderful place of prayer and refuge you express there in the Lord even in the midst of war and turmoil.  Yes, may we never forget where our strength comes from.  God bless.  -Bob

... quiet moments resound ... Deafening, isn’t it.

… paralyzing arms that hate,
giving Earth a sense of peace
before we find that it's too late…

Enjoyed the read.

Thanks,
Melton
