Full Circle

When I was young, I used to think
My life was hov'ring on the brink,
So when I went to bed I'd pray
That God would grant me one more day.

As time went on I worried less.
There was too much to do I guess,
With work and raising family.
I prayed for them, but not for me.

They grew and left the family fold.
Began their lives. One day I sold
The home where I had lived and where
I felt alone and lonely there.

I moved into a smaller place
And hardly recognized the face
That from the mirror, looked at me.
I'd grown old. How could that be?

These days, I find, I often think
My life is hov'ring on the brink
And when I go to bed I pray
That God will grant me one more day!

Trillium,

Well, I guess you've entered into your second childhood.     Life has a funny way of teaching us lessons.  We can seem to travel so very-very far through life to only come back to where we first began.  I join the others in believing GOD will grace you with many-many more delightful days of poetry that you might bless us here on Earth.  GOD bless you and keep you in His care.  -Bob
