My homeland is not of the world

The Oasis
by,
-Matt-

The waters of my soul
Are but an oasis,
Flooding in the hole,
But that’s just the basis.

The sands of my mortality
Is at the waters’ edge;
Bringing to me a fatality
From the love that I pledged.

My eyes see nothing but rain;
My love was all in vain.
I no longer feel the pain,
But I am slain

I lost my love,
And then I died,
And I arrived up above,
Though I can’t see why

For my faith is but an oasis,
Laying still with no motion.
Yes, my faith is just a basis,
And my doubt was an ocean

After I stated my name,
I was greeted with a hi.
I was let in, all the same,
And I asked him, “why?”

He told me that my soul is but an oasis,
Near the sands of all I see,
But an oasis is merely the basis,
Of the desert of eternity.

Sorry if the puncuation is wrong, but I was never good at grammer Also, sorry if it doesn't fit in this catagory.I thought it might, but I'm not sure.

The category is just fine.  There are people writing here who have great faith and some of the rest who are trying.  All are admitted. I am sure God is every bit as lenient as we are.  Joyce

(smiles) Oh Encarta, I too think this is just fine and you have come to the right place, for I too believe that in all our hearts we have that oasis where we quench our thorst of faith and peace and in reaching to Him it will always bear the fresh water of faith! (big hugggssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, this is beautifully heartfelt, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Encarta, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Hi Matt,

Great poem!  I think sometimes we can feel pretty small in comparison to our vast surroundings.  Glad GOD doesn't compare us to anyone else.  You know being an Oasis is a darn good thing....  Especially, in the middle of a desert. Amen.  Thanks for sharing and you definitely have found the right place to hang out. GOD bless.  -Bob

I like your unique phrases to compare eternity.

Thank you,
