The Heralds

Within the gray of early dawn,
A group of women plodded on,
To see the tomb where Jesus lay.
They saw an angel, heard him say
"He is not here.He is not dead.
He's gone to be with God instead.
So spread the word in Galilee.
He has fulfilled the prophecy!"

So buoyed with hope and wonder too,
The women quietly withdrew
And as they went, the Lord appeared.
They saw the wound where He was speared.
The rends upon His hands and feet.
He asked that they go on to meet
His followers, so they could share
The good news, 'til He met them there.

They were His heralds, those women who
Had followed Him and remained true
And so He chose to show His face,
First to them, of all His race.
He was a miracle whose strength
Has spanned the width and heighth and length
Of all the years between and grows,
With every prayer that upward goes!

Betty,
This is a beautiful Hearlding of the truth, and a wonderful reminder and testimony to the women who so wonderfully were invovled during the period of the Lord's Passion & beyond.
I find this perspective refreshing and encouraging especially for the Godly women today, which can play such an important role in the sharing of the same Good News today!

God bless You, Friend,

Trillium,

Oh my gosh you are such an amazing poet.  Such honor displayed here in your words toward the Women in the Bible that lingered and pursued the Lord even after His crucifixion on the cross.  Brought a tear of gratitude to my eye and spirit just to think upon their extreme Faithfulness to our Lord and Savior.  My poet friend, GOD bless you and also a happy belated Easter to you.  -Bob

Bob:  I so appreciate your complimentary remarks. Thanks.  It has always been a special feeling for me, that Jesus appeared to his faithful women followers first, after his resurrection. I finally decided I needed to write about it.
