We've been following our Master
As He goes toward certain doom,
To His agony upon the cross
And His burial in the tomb.
Our hearts are heavy in our breasts.
We shed shameful, bitter tears.
Our Saviour will be crucified,
We tremble with our awful fears.

We long to save Him from His fate.
We crave to cool His feverish brow.
But He must die upon the cross,
We cannot change the ending now.
Unlike His friends of long ago
Who gathered at His wounded feet,
We have heard the Easter story,
We know His death is not defeat.

We look forward to that Sunday
When He will triumph over pain.
We will shout that "Christ has risen."
And we will see Him one again.
Take His cross and follow Jesus
As He takes the road to Glory.
"Christ is risen! Christ is risen!"
Is the wondrous Easter story.

great expression, Joyce
i liked the visual impact,
even if it's uncomfortable.
Glory to the Living Lord!
thanks,

BRAVO!!! Oh my gosh, this is such a wonderful dedication to the true meaning of Easter and to our Lord, sweet friend, I always can't help but cry every Easter weekend thinking of how He sacrificed Himself but all the while I also cry in joy knowing there is hope and deep down He lives on in all our hearts and His love will never die! (kiss on cheek) This is excellent, sweet friend, we all love you so much, God Bless You! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Joyce, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Joyce,

The Easter Story is a re-occurrence that repeats itself each year as we share in the sufferings of Christ as you have expressed.  I also am so glad that it always ends in Victory.  This is a wonderful Easter poem.  Thank you for sharing.  -Bob

Oh, Joyce, this is a most beautiful Easter poem! Thank you for blessing me with it. Love, Ellie

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.
