Closer I Am to God Broken now - Iām whole Sinking now ā I float Each day before ā lonely, droll Each day now ā my soul bloats My father sang precious melody My name called in perfect key Chaste, in angelic devotion Of waste, hell-spent emotion I lay down my spirit to thee Humbly ask of God to protect me Common disasters betray the blind Seraphim wings; so warm, so kind I hear Your will softly call Live majestic oak, I walk tall Away from the past I slowly trod When calamities do befall the Closer I Am to God |

PearlsB4Swine, Oh, Your poem's so true. True, GOD is gracious to us especially during our times of calamity. I love the examples that you use here to express this. Very nice. -Bob |
