Gethsemane

These heavy hearted tears I cry
Roll down from water-colored eyes
To streak my face and fall to mud
A renaissance of martyr's blood
Oh, take this cup of most Divine
My Father, not my will but Thine
Three times hence I've come to pray
Please, Father take this cup away
Three times hence as unto death
Oh, Father make this my last breath
Thine angel comes to counsel me
To lift me from my bended knee
But, yet I pray more earnest still
Oh, Father show me, now, Thine will
Divulge my agony turned blood
As tears of sorrow onward flood
Oh, Father let Our wills be One
Yet, not my will but Thine be done.

Oh, Bob, this is magnificent! You have captured the essence of our Lords surrender perfectly...and so i think of this as always the perfect prayer "Thy Will be done, not mine"...

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.
