Color-Coded Prayers

Are colors in the prayers we send,
If we could see them as they wend
Their way up through the atmosphere
And enter in God's waiting ear?

They surely should be tinted so,
He'd see them coming and He'd know
What type of prayer each one would be.
A preview of diversity!

Most prayers, so earnestly intoned,
Whispered, shouted and sometimes moaned,
Hold such emotion, how could they
Arrive in shades of brown or gray?

God gave bright shades to everything,
So don't you think the prayers we bring
To His attention, just might be
A color-coded litany?

The rainbows and the clouds display
Such lovely colors, so He may
See all our pleas in colors too.
It's possible, I think, don't you?

I love everything about this.  The idea of lovely colored prayers and the beautifully rhymed poem.  Love Joyce

YAY!!! Oh Betty, this is sooooo beautiful, I too believe He created all the colors of the world for a reason, for us to paint and create to our hearts content and each color would resemble who we are and what we love! (kiss on cheek) This is a true masterpiece, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Betty, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Oh Betty Lou, what a wonderful thought you've planted in my mind. I can't imagine anything being as plain as gray or brown in God's eye. Now when I pray, I'll be trying to decide what color God is seeing. Thanks.

Noah:  I'm glad you agree that prayers could be tinted in lovely colors even though we can't see them!  Always appreciate your kind replies.

What a sweet, uplifting thought so nicely rhymed!
Perhaps prayers sent when we are blue,
He lights up with a star or two
From blackened sin we've confessed,
He makes snow flakes for earths breast.
The yellow prayers, I send in fright
He fills with faith to use His might.
Gray ones, I say while whining or pining,
He inverts to show me their silver lining.

You've really started something here.  All sorts of things are running through my mind.

Thank you.   Rae

This is a beautiful thought, Betty. I think that God is very pleased by anything, pure, in our hearts that brings praise to His name. And this is such a beautiful thought.

Trillium,

I love the thought of color coded prayers. Yes, dear friend, I do believe because all things are possible for those who love the Lord.  Amen.  Very imaginative writing expressed here in your poem. GOD bless you.  -Bob

Gosh I just adore this poem and have read it over and over again. It is such a lovely thought and each time I read it, it makes me want to pray all that much more. :-)  Hugs, Marti

hey Betty
does seem as though there is a subtle different shade of color for every prayer, eh? Perhaps as there are shades of people?
