God's Guarantee God gives a lifetime guarantee To everyone on earth, With benefits we start to reap The moment of our birth. He furnishes us an endless sky That arches over all And sprinkles it with silver stars That sometimes flame and fall. Supplies us with a sun and moon. With fog and winter snow And rain to nourish all the trees And other things that grow. He gives to us the gift of clouds In all their great array. Then sends us winds from everywhere, To blow them all away. The animals, the birds in air, The teeming life at sea. The singing whales, the strange and rare, All free, to you and me! This reminded me of a quote from a movie that I adore... "Oh God!" and in that film George Burns plays God and in answer to the question, of "why don't you do something?" --in regards to the injustice of the world--He answered: "I gave you a world and everything in it. What more do you want?" (oh..and I did paraphrase the quotes...rotten memory) Loved this. |
