The Cloth Of Faith

I dropped my hope onto the floor,
Then I began to cry.
For, where would I be, without hope,
On hope, I had come to rely.

I dropped my courage on the floor,
And then I felt such sorrow.
How could I go on without courage,
To guide me through each tomorrow.

Then I dropped my joy onto the floor,
Oh how very sad I was then.
I felt so empty and alone,
I must get it back again.

So I bent over and picked them up,
They seemed to be just fine.
I took the cloth of faith to clean them,
Then they began to shine.

I took a deep breath and breathed them in,
Till my heart was filled with love
Contentment now was here within,
As God smiled from above.

Nothing we do or feel will shine without the light of Faith. Faith must remove all darkness  purging all impurities of non belief. Well done, floria. Thank you for sharing.

when hope drops to floor
place knees in proximity
speak to Him softly

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

Beautiful!! and oh how this lifted my spirit! Hugs, Ellie

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

Gosh, I too am always dropping things.  I think it might be that I have trouble keeping my mind on what I'm doing.  So glad that I can venture off and explore some new things without worrying about holding on to what I've already got.  Our God does have some mighty big hands indeed.  Why He can polish us up just right with one small swoop.  A lovely poem.  I enjoyed the gentle humor in this one.  -Bob
