Saying Thanks

So many million prayers arise,
Propelled by hope into the skies.
How many of that vast array
Are simply thanks for one more day?
Not asking for a single thing.
Just letting grateful phrases sing,
To let God know how much we care
About the marvelous works we share,
That he created joyously,
Providing well for you and me.
So let us not forget to say
A fervent "thank you" every day!

Yes Trillium, so many times we treat God as if he were Santa Claus asking and then forgetting to say thank you.  Joyce

Oh, that we should not neglect to be thankful nor full of gratitude toward our Lord and  Savior... Your poem reflects so profoundly for me the warning that states that men became vain in their imaginations because when they knew God they glorified Him not and neither were they thankful.  Thank you for emphasizing this very important point in Christian living.  -Bob

Thank you for writing this, Trillium. Love is only meaningful when it is received. Saying thank you is a way to show that we do indeed receive and appreciate love that is given. And isn't this a wonderful way to make that love offered, complete?

This poem so beautifully illustrates the principle of giving thanks to God. He is certainly worthy of all our praise and thanksgiving.  ***Ivy Rose
