Hurricane of anger and winds of rage. Wave after wave pounding my spirit. Ravaging winds blowing the sands, so that chaos and confusion fill my mind. The furious sea tossing debris, randomly upon the beach. Suddenly, the storm subsides, and one solitary man waits. The son of man waits, in quiet patience He waits. Awareness fills my spirit, as the debris lies there on the surface of my mind. Tangled seaweed of resentment and blame. Gnarled driftwood of control. Empty clam shells of shame and quilt. Sharp edged broken shells of anger. Huge stinging jellyfish of fear, waiting to inflict pain on those I love. Still He waits, as I begin to gather all the old debris. And as the sands are cleared and smooth, and as the sea so peacefully, rolls upon the shore, His light of love begins to shine, on gifts the storm has left. Gifts I would have never found, among the old debris. So now we walk together, on sands of peace and love, Knowing storms will come again, upon this soul of mine. Yet now I walk alone no more. Through storm or calm He guides my soul, to gifts upon the sand. |

This is beautiful. I see you beside the solitary man, carefully stepping into His footprints in the sand. Go on .... Mawulom. |

Ellie, You do such a superb job of fully painting the landscape of your beautiful poem. I am awed by the well thought out images and identifications you bring to play, to contrast the serene & beautiful peaceful stroll you can have with the Master, once the sinful debris have been removed. Very Good, indeed! "Our Creativity points to a Higher Creator--we couldn't have just happened, and for what ability we may possess--to God be the glory." -dlw- |

A beautiful picture of peaceful sereneness each time we identify and remove the garbage that obscures that view. Thank you |

Ellie, The way you use the metaphor of new gifts being found after a soul storm tearing past, with His light, is magnificent. As I was reading this, I found the sereneness even more welcoming knowing that he was there, after the first few thundering phrases. I thank you for a wonderful read. |

I love the imagery you used in this! What a picture you paint. It reminds me when they were on the ship and the boat was being tossed to and fro. And Jesus calmed the storm. Very well done! <*\\\>< Where there is faith, there is love. Where there is love, there is peace. Where there is peace, there is GOD. Where there is GOD, there is no need. Hallmark |
