Take rule of my life, O LORD
Of it, I've made such a mess,
Unattuned to Thy right way--
Misguided in my life's quest.

I've tried my own way and found
I'm not wise enough to see,
Just what I'm needing to do
To become what I should be!

I've tried to proctect myself
From all the mean slights of men,
It's only caused bitterness
And led me to further sin.

I need a great turn-around
My downward spiral to flee,
I can't do it on my own--
O my dear LORD, Help Thou me!

I now relinquish control
Take of my life's shattered ways,
Refill my life with Thy Grace
Rule in my heart, to Thy Praise.

Every Day's a Blessing
And Gift-Wrapped from Above,
Share it with another
And Spread the Father's Love!!!

May You come to Know His Best Blessing

David; You have made the first and important step; you have acknowledged your need. Now trust the Lord to meet that need.  Our part is trusting, reading and obeying His Word, and communing with Him in prayer.  I am so thankful for 1st. John 1:9 which says, "If we will confess our sin, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sin, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

You have written a beautiful poem here and I sense you are really sharing your heart.  You are right in stating you can not do it on your own.  The truth of the matter is, "None of us can do it on our own."

Good prayer, a prayer of humility. We all at times try to travel down the road of "OUR WAY"..just shows how human we are. To admit it is to grow closer to HIM.

Sometimes any of us
can get lost
from our own
reality's view,
yet to have the faith
you exhibit here,
to admit fault
and ask for guidence,
and forgiveness
is by far a strength,
that exceeds beyond

Your poetic prayer's my constant need. Like a toddler, helped to its feet, runs in its own direction rather than seeking the Fathers first, we want His will in all things, but unfortunately, forget. Thankfully, He forgives as we confess. Apostle Paul had the same problem doing what he didn't want to and not doing what he wanted to do. Bless you and thanks for sharing.
