A Humble Act I wonder how disciples felt, When Jesus came to them and knelt So He could wash their dusty feet And when the ritual was complete, He talked to them and told them He Had done this so they all would see Though Master, He was not above This very humble act of love. He bade them to do just the same To those who followed in His name And give to others tender care, Such as He had shown there. We know that Peter cringed to see The Lord upon His bended knee, But Jesus told him to abide. Let this example be his guide! Betty; always does this scripture restore my humility and so I thank you for doing the same in this inspiring poem! Love, Ellie A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails. |

Not just my feet but my whole body Lord. Peter was a real character. Though I've not done it yet, I've been told that this is an act of servanthood that can be done in our home as well. I have not yet humbled myself to wash the feet of my wife and children but your poem has planted a seed in that direction. -Bob |

I like the way you handled this subject. To wash feet is truly a test of humility and love. |

Each believers soul, He washed white as snow. Your poem is wonderful, as always, in reminding us not only to follow in His footsteps, but in how thankful we ought be. Rae |
