I sit upon the shoreline
Beneath the willow tree
My heart drooping down
Yet no one seems to see

A tear rolls down my cheek
As I bow my head in prayer
Please tell me Lord God
Why life can be so unfair

I ask Him for the courage
To do what must be done
Praying for the strength
To see the rising sun

My knees feel very weak
Whenever I try to stand
Hopefully He will hold me
Taking me gently by the hand

Please don’t let me go
For I need you so much now
My heart is very humble
To You in reverence I bow

Take my heart and heal it
With divine grace and love
Shower me with mercy
From heaven up above

Take the pain within
Turning it inside out
Show me the way, Lord
No longer filled with doubt

Set my feet upon the path
That you’ve chosen for me
Grant me insight and wisdom
So that I will finally see

I offer up this prayer
On this most glorious day
I give to you my heart
Knowing You’ll find a way

All writing comes
by the grace of God.

If we believe in OURSELVES....that is the beginning of miracles.

Lone Wolf; I am so thankful our God does hear the prayers of His children.  I am also thankful He answers the prayers of one who truly loves Him and desires to walk in His ways. Wanda

Yes, this total reliance on and surrender to God is what makes the rising of the new day so much more glorious....  I appreciate your honest sentiments expressed here in your poem and prayer.  -Bob

Thank God for his strength, and that it is written of him "A broken reed he will not break, and a smoking flax he will not extinguish".
