Autumn Ending

Whenever autumn winds blow by
And pluck gold leaves, to twirl and fly,
I watch them falling through the air
And long to take a trip somewhere.
I have no special spot in mind.
It's just a wanderlust, I find,
That creeps upon me in the fall.
My answer to the season's call!

And when October flames the sky,
As day is ending, then I sigh
At seeing time go by so fast.
If only I could make it last!
I'm never ready to let go
And watch the land fill up with snow.
But, God designed these seasons and
They must proceed just as He planned!

Betty; I am never ready for the cold and snow of winter, but I agree, God has a purpose for the seasons.  Each season is beautiful in its' own way. I enjoyed the poem. Wanda

Betty this is beautiful.  I can't believe either that the seasons change so fast.  This weekend daylight savings ends.  Then indeed the days will seem short.  Joyce

Everything has its proper time and season and you have told it so beautifully in your words. His reason we may not know but after the rest He gives during winter the spring bursts forth in all its glory. BRAVO!!! I love this poem.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

Wanda:  Thanks for commenting and I agree, winter can be so beautiful.  One of the most gorgeous winter days I ever have seen was in Nevada when everything was coated with ice and the air was full of floating ice crystals, set to sparkling by the sun. It was like walking in a shower of diamonds.

Joyce:  Thanks for your nice remarks.  I too, am dreading going off of daylight saving time.  Then I know it really is WINTER!
