I Shall Never Walk This Way

Today I walked down a lonely road
The burden I carried was such a heavy load
You see I carried the awful guilt of my sin
I shudder to think of all the places I’ve been

There were times I knew I was doing wrong
But the pull of sin was so very strong
I lied, I cheated, I hurt those who did care
I flew so high, then sunk so low I was in despair

As I walked down this road, I met a man who said
Give me your load; I know the tears you’ve shed
I paid the price to set you free from your sin
Trust me, you’ll be forgiven; new life will begin

I confessed my sins and gave him the heavy load
Thank God, I will never again walk down this road
May I walk worthy in Him by whom I was called
My life has been changed; it’s been overhauled

With His help I will never again walk alone
By His shed blood, He did for my sins, atone
Thank you Lord from the very depths of my heart
You have promised, from me, you shall never depart

Dear lady,  you write such encouraging
words that we who have sinned can find hope
from.  I enjoy your every write.  You

Bob; Life is difficult at best; but to know the Lord gives us One who sticks closer then a brother. I think back to all the faults, all the mistakes, all the sin in my past; yet He accepted me as I was. He made of me a new creation according to 2nd. Cor. 5:17. So, how could I ever again walk down that old road filled with sin and remorse?

Bob, thank you for your reply to this poem.  Wanda
