Rest in Me Rest in Me, the Lord seemed to say Let me lead you as you walk today The path is narrow, the climb is steep The way is long before you can sleep I cried,“Lord, please don’t leave my side” He gently said, “With you I will abide” Take my hand, trust me now I’ll guide you through, I’ll show you how Do not fear the angry beast ahead He has no power for you to dread I’ll tell him, “Peace, be still” He’ll quieten down, you’ll see he will He clasped my hand; it was time to go I felt His power and feared no foe I heard the beast give a mighty roar He raised his hand, he roared no more The climb was steep; my steps were slow He lifted me up; I loved Him so I looked ahead and saw a stream I asked myself, “Could this be a dream” He set me down on a soft bed of grass He smiled at me and said, “You’re here lass” No longer will there be a need to roam Rest now in your forever home Written by, Wanda |

I appreciate your reply to this poem. I love the poem "Footprints." On the painting for this poem there are only one set of footprints instead of the two sets. It is because the Lord carried the person during the difficult times. He has done that for me. Wanda |

Bob; This adventure in the Lord is our life..Aren't you thankful He always walks with you? I think of a hymn that I used to hear (as a child) each and every morning entitled "No Never Alone." It was the theme song for "The Heaven and Home Hour." My father always listened to that, and the hymn is certainly true. "He's promised never to leave me, never to leave me alone." Now, that is a wonderful truth to know, isn't it? (Hebrews 13:5) Thanks again for your comment. Wanda |
