(This is the second poem in a series of letters from Thomas to Paul--I posted the first one in August.) Dear Paul You are right I should not care what others say but I always have I don't feel I am asking the apostles to lie but I understand how it might appear that way What if they only omitted one detail that I asked to stick my fingers through the holes in Jesus's hands before believing He had resurrected It was one of those things I said in haste looking back I wondered why I acted so foolishly I can't see any purpose in recording my behavior for all history to see but as you said God has plans we are not privy to Did you know Mary the sister of Lazarus passed away Her funeral was lovely Peter and John sang a duet Martha did not go although I heard Mary's husband raised money for her to take a bus Somehow she missed it I don't know why Signed Thomas (Didymus) Jeen |
