Disconnect me from myself
For the pain inside is great
Keep away the lurking demons
That tries filling me with hate

For my soul keeps crying out
That the world is so unfair
To take the innocent lives
And fill my our own with fear

For Deep inside I can feel
All the sorrows of the lost
The pain of the wounded
And the world I new now tossed

Disillusionment abounds
and my innocence is gone
Evil will overcome me
If my soul is not to strong

Then hate will fill my heart
And no better will I be
Then Those that have done this
Those that set out to hurt me

So Disconnect me from myself
Let my soul have needed rest
So it can fight the lurking demons
And let Evil know which is best

May God protect our souls

It would be great to be able to disconnect from what is happening to us, but not possible! We just have to be strong enough to see it through. Good poem.

I agree that the pain is almost unbearable. It does not seem possible that evil could abound as it does in this world.
However it seems, there is a greater power that will help us overcome and endure. The Bible tells us that... greater is he that is in us, than he that is in the world. The evil will not always reign or rule.
Reach out for the one who knows and loves you... God almighty.

I think that is what most of us are feeling so you are not alone..many are reconnecting to God..which is a good thing to come from a bad situation. Good poem.

Your poem speaks for all of us. I think we will go through stages in our grief. Hate, great fear and then the peace that tells us that this too shall pass and thankfully we have wise and patient leaders. Joyce
