Angel's Eyes

The stars that shine so brilliantly
Across the nighttime skies,
May not be stars at all, you know,
But really angel's eyes!
They're charged with watching over us
By God, who knows that we
So often in the darkness need
A little company.

For everyone who works all night
And those who cannot sleep,
because they're ill or troubled so,
For those of us who weep,
Look up and see the sparkling stars.
Remember why they're there.
To show us that we aren't alone,
For God is everywhere!

Ahhhhhh.... such a peaceful and brilliant idea that stars could be the eyes of angels watching over Gods creation.  What a great meditation to have as one falls asleep at night.  -Bob

Betty; This is delightful! I love the imagery and i will remember this poem when I see the stars shining bright! Ellie

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

Being one of those night-weepers, I love this thought and will carry it with me.

BettyLou~
You reminded me of what my grandmother used to say~

'Twinkle, twinkle little stars.
Angel eyes are what you are.
Watching over us in sleep,
Tender watch through night you keep.'

I just love your poetic piece~

Marge:  What a nice memory for you of your grandmother, reciting the poem Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, with a twist of her own. I like her version best!  Thanks for your nice comments.
