The afternoon sky
Was overcast and gray
Stormy dark clouds
Brought rain today

A heavy downpour
Drenched the earth
In a drowning rain
And my windshield wipers
Couldn't keep up
With the precipitation

A very gloomy day it was
My thoughts matched
The ominous skies

As I traveled on
Down a rain slick road
God's placed a rainbow
For my eyes
To behold

A prism of hope
On a rain drenched day
God took a rainbow
And parted the clouds
For me today

How awesome! Something to brighten your day.
This so reminds me of the beautiful double rainbows I got to see displayed in Colorado.

Here in Illinois, I don't believe I've ever seen one.

What a blessing, thank you for putting a little prism of light in my overcast day!

Rainbows are such a special gift from Him and never fail to lift my spirits! I'm glad it did the same for you.

Dearest friend, thank you for this hope! Love, Ellie

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

This really was a beautiful rainbow, it is not often you can view both ends of a rainbow at the same time.. One time I did see a double rainbow in Indiana..that was a sight to behold. Thanks for all your comments, I always enjoy reading what you all have to say, even tho I might not always answer your comments.
