Daddy Talks

Daisies dance lightly in her hair
as joys of summer fill the air.
She builds sand castles in the sand
as Daddy reaches out his hand.
They walk together on the shore
as Daddy talks of Evermore.

Seagulls glide softly on the wind
as conversations soon will end.
She holds memories of them each
as waves go crashing on the beach.
She's looking forward to that day
when life will never pass away.

Jesus speaks gently to her soul
as life on earth has taken toll.
She clenches dearly to each word
as voice of Daddy now is heard.
They walk together on the shore
as Daddy talks of Evermore.

This is beautiful, and yet seems to have an underlying current of sadness about it. The imagery is great. It is written very well.

Another beautiful piece about a Fathers love.

Coming from a home with an "ugly" biological father, (I wrote a poem about him in Dark) I have to remind myself daily about a true fathers love.
