Cross Words With trivial matters growing and my walk in spirit slowing I pause to reevaluate my life. For many things not grossly sin with tip-toes led astray again from Christ and prayer and fealty to my wife. High things of praise and honor I have pushed into a corner, and given my attention to what’s small. And not that they’re forbidden but how sadly truth goes hidden when I let their chatter drown your holy call. Help me Lord to turn away from Babel sounds the worldly say incessantly to dull my healthy fears. Are they voices without meaning? or intent that by my leaning I might slump and fail to circumcise my ears? Called out to hear your righteous voice each day I’m thrusted in a choice to take my cross and shoulder it for you. But how often by pretention I’m recoiling making mention your commands seem far too nebulous to do, and “this cross of mine lies hidden” is my answer when you’ve bidden me to find it near and live to follow you. Everyday life is a challenge. "Help me Lord", is a prayer we should all start the day with to keep focused. Melton |

You are wise to seek him. It is a constant battle. But you know you seek and ask and talk and walk with him. The relationship is a... relationship. 2dalimit is so right. Help us all. Thank you for sharing. Sincerely, Rwood With all things considered, why not God? |

Stephanos~ This is a truly wonderful affirmation of what we should daily do~ 'Called out to hear your righteous voice each day I’m thrusted in a choice to take my cross and shoulder it for you.' May He lift us in voice each day. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

This is great Stephanos. It is so easy to let other things come between us and our Lord. Thanks for binging this to our attention so brilliantly. Joyce |

I have to give *applause* here, for a wonderfully written piece of work! How easy it is to become side-tracked with the ways of the world. It takes a lot of discipline to stay in it everyday. We all fall short of that at one time or another. It is a constant battle as said. It's a good thing that we can realize we've fallen, or turned away. It's not easy, but God knows the trials of man/women, He's suffered them all. Thank Him, He's so loving, and forgiving, and patient with us. ![]() <*\\\>< |

I admire your poetry because you emphasize living a holy and sanctified life that is seperated unto God.... True, the devil works on our faith by introducing little questionable sins that ultimatly draw us farther from the one we truly love. Your words are ones that we so often need to hear for encouragement as Christians. Bob <>< |

Not at all what I expected from the title, but nevertheless the title is fiting, as anything we do (though maybe not a sin may not be working in the direction God wants us to go, or "cross words" to His Will. Very well written, and reminder all Christians including myself need. |
