The senses can detect
A freshly peeled orange.
Lavender in bloom
Fifty feet away.
Even a brook
Flowing beneath
Old canopy foliage
A Musty mushroom scent
Trickling across lime rock time.
The Snap of green beans
Broke fresh
Emitting Grandma's kitchen
Scents long gone
But never forgotten.
The sun magnifies
The rich garden morning
Of dew drop tomatoes.
The soft, sweeping crush
Of barefoot fresh, cut grass.
Paint and it's drippings
Newly coated clapboards
Of the garden shed.
If asked: How do you know
If He exists?
I breath deep and smile
Just because
I can

Your poem really brings out the senses of summer in a natural fashion..... Now, I certainly agree.....isn't the scent of God fresh.... well, maybe that ol' musty mushroom scent may be an exception to the rule.  Anyway, good poem.  Bob <><

I like your images here, they convey your message well.

I like your poem and it is one more way we know there is God. He has given us the senses to be aware of Him in so many ways.

That last line was tremendous!  I would never have thought of answering such a question that way, but that is well said.

I like the imagery and the sentiment both - very much!
