today
you are the sky
and I am a small tree
with arm branches lifted

you smile
with a sun color mouth
my leaves tremble in your presence
my roots lift me closer to you

from my limbs
bird voices sing their praise
you strum their wings
with gentle winds

I look at you in quiet
you recognize my eyes
among millions in your forest
you find my adoration

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!!! Your poem gives me a feeling of being one with nature and all the rest of God's marvelous creation. I do believe as you have penned, even the trees praise the Lord with their branches lifted high unto Him. Beautiful. Bob <><

How nice to meet you New. I love your poem. He is able to pick us out of the crowd and make us his own. If we could all be as strong and deeply rooted as the tree. Lovely.

This poem is a gem. But the only thing I ask is about the line "with a sun color mouth"... wouldn't that be sun colored mouth? Anyway that was also a really great line that hit me just right.
