Mommy in the moonlight, Your face is soft and fair, And tiny bits of silver light Dance about your hair I know you see me mommy, And little Brian too, No, don’t wake up just yet, I need to talk to you I know you think it’s your fault That we both went away, I know you wish you’d said, All the things you want to say But hard as it may seem, God called us home that day We only asked for three short years, We knew we couldn’t stay I hear you pray for one more chance, Just one more precious day, To wake up to the joyful noise Of two young boys at play You’d sing those silly songs we love And read our favorite book, We’d picnic out behind the house Beside the little brook And when the day was over, You’d tuck us in real tight And hold us close just one more time Before you dimmed the light God lent us to you mama, To visit you awhile, We taught you how to love again, To laugh and cry, to smile But heaven is our home you see, We cannot stay with you, For god has many special things That he needs us to do The world is waiting mommy, You must take what you know And give it back to those on earth, Help others learn and grow And we’ll be watching over you, A moment isn’t long, Till god decides to bring you back To us, where you belong. |

Romy, What a tender hearted poem of immense proportion.... I have learned that pain can be one of our greatest learning experiences in life... and I am uplifted again to read about one who has experienced un-imaginable pain and yet has learned so much positive growth because of it. Such a wonderful intimate moment expressed here that offers so much hope. Bob <>< |

This really touched my heart. I am still mourning over my beloved grown son. But I have all of his growing up years to remember. How sad, two little boys. Love, Joyce |

What a bittersweet piece Romy ~ Wonderfully woven into a poem with simply heartwarming words. How beautifully you have written of those precious little protectors ... Bonnie |

This is heart-wrenchingly sad, but at the same time offers hope the mother and her sons will be together eventually. Nothing is worse I don't think, than losing a child! Betty Lou Hebert |

Oh, how sad. Such emotions this piece envokes. You have written of it well. Perhaps she can find comfort in the fact that they we meet again one day. All writing comes |

Thank-you everyone for your thoughtful replies to my poem. I wrote this with my two young nephews in mind, who died in a fire five years ago. Their mother told me once, that shortly after their funeral, she dreamed that they came to her while she was sleeping. She said that they wanted to tell her that they were alright... Thanks again, Debbie |

I don't know what to say, part of me feels sad for the loss, but happy that they are in heaven. |
