Your critical eyes cut me
To the quick and to the bone,
I feel their hurt, not helping
Despised and so all alone.

Your rash tongue lashes at me
It seems your perverse delight,
To cut me down in public
I ask, "now, is that right?"

Your haughty demeanor demeans me
Intentionally or not, I can't say,
Are we not both imperfect?
Is there not a better way?

``````````````````````````````````
Your compassionate looks reach for me
To help make a change in my life,
Making me feel worth your effort
And lifting us both from sin's strife.
Your loving words can direct me
Back to the pathways of right,
Instead of demanding justice
Doooming me to eternal night!
Your humble, kind disposition
Could give me an example to embrace
You trully could be a leader
As your steps I try to retrace.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
You don't know how much you affect me
A Blessing or Curse you could be,
So for God, my sake consider
You help shape my destiny!
WOW!!! What an exquisite poem you have written for us all. It is amazing that one person can crash a persons spirit or even lift it on high. This truly does show how much power we hold inside and I do hope we all use it wisely. Thank you for this read it was astounding.
David; i have to say the power of these words of yours is profound! Only when we stay close to God and His incredible love, can we be assured that His Love will pour forth and out of us to build and uplift one another. Ellie
David,
An excellent poem on what I read as being relationships... especially husband and wife relationships.  The ones that we love most certainly do have a great impact upon our lives be it positive or negative.  This is a poem that really makes me want to stop and consider the words that I speak.  Thank you for the reminder on how marvelously interconnected we all are.   Bob <><
David,
  You have shown a distinct and clear contrast in the poem you have crafted. After looking at our options side by side as you have so proficiently displayed them here, it's a "no brainer" choice! Let me edify and not destroy the precious moments we share in this life. Very thoughtful poem, well done.
Love ya, Dennis :^)
Nice poem. God can use any vessel (those who have accepted and those who have not), to teach us lessons or to bring us closer to Him.
Dear David,  A wonderful poem as usual.  If all parents could see that it is love and kindness and praise that mold their children in the right way, not nagging and cutting words.  Very nice work.  Joyce
A wonderful reminder of how some action or word may find meaning beyond our intentions or wildest dreams. What may be trivial or careless to us may be uplifting or destructive to the recipient. Well said.
God gives us the choice to use our words and actions to heal or to harm. Our choices can have powerful consequences!  Very wise words!
