My son did no wrong Yet they nailed him to a cross Setting a guilty man free My son did not protest Even though His punishment was unjust He died between two men Who deserved Their punishment Yet one of them Was spared Eternal retribution He joined my son On that dreary dark day In the light of Paradise Was this fair? You might ask Is it ever fair that the Innocent die? Or is it fair that The guilty are set free? No certainly not, Yet it's a state of humanity My son Gave his life willingly So all men could be set free It did not matter what evil deeds they'd done Forgiveness could then be their's If they just called on my son Is this fair? You might ask That a murderer be sat free To live in heaven eternally? Yes, afterall This was the plan of Divinity [This message has been edited by Songbird (edited 06-09-2001).] |

Oh, you are surely inspired by the Holy Spirit to inspire us all with your wonderful gift of poetry! Love, Ellie A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails. |
