The inclination to travel the wider path--challenge |

This mountain that I must ascend Beneath these stormy skies, Much to great to comprehend So daunting is its size And in the distance I can see Not one way up, but two, Oh Lord which is the one for me? Which path should I pursue? Notice that the larger trail Is brightly lit and wide, Much easier for one to scale Than on this other side This narrow trail that lies ahead I feel inclined to shun, And take the other path instead, The more appealing one I wonder if I’m fit enough To mount this higher peak, I’m sure the journey will be rough, Am I too frail and weak? There is an inclination, toward the wider of the two But I know my salvation is to put my faith in you So I will climb the narrow side Though hardship may be near, I know you’ll be my gentle guide With you, I have no fear and when I reach the mountaintop, I’ll kneel down and rejoice Knowing that the path I chose has always been my choice! Romy, this is so wonderful, I'm so happy you made me aware it was here. It, too, is one I'd like to send to my pastor so he may see what the phrase he used in a message recently has been inspiring. May I do so? If so, e-mail me as I often get side-tracked and forget to go looking for answers to my questions/requests. |

Romy, So nice to have you back with another fine post. I do enjoy the upbeatedness of your poetry. Yes, I can climb that mountain that lies ahead and I can climb it on the narrow path which God has chosen for me... and in the end, I will be assured that my choice was correct.... Very Uplifting. Debbie, i like the light-hearted way in which this was written in...and you are absolutely right...we must place our faith in Him and constantly strive to challenge ourselves by treading the narrow path... nicely done... |
