We are conditioned to believe Surrender equates defeat, Thus the lot of losers-- One we care not to meet. So is all surrender negative To be avoided at all cost? Is there not a willing submission Which actually saves us from being lost? Yes, when that surrender Is to God's Will Divine, The Greater, not the Lesser Is what we'll surely find! Sacred is such a Surrender A chosen and loving trust, That God as our Father knows Best As the humble, He takes care of us. In the White flag of Surrender A new, brighter meaning we see, In yielding up our pitiful ways He shares with us Purity. Remember when it comes to surrender Consider to what and to whom, If to God, it yields life Anew To evil, but an ugly tomb! [This message has been edited by deleeme (edited 05-23-2001).] |

David, you have so captured the essence of surrender to God as the only answer to life! He then gives us control of our lives, as far as He is in control. A contradiction in terms, as all things spiritual are! Ellie A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails. |

David, I suppose if we are going to surrender... it is best to know what or who we are surrendering to... You have stated this so very well... If we are surrendering to righteousness then eternal life and if we are surrendering to evil then eternal death. Surrendering to Life over Death seems like such an easy choice but this is a choice that I need reminding of and need to remind myself of daily. Thank you for supporting my choice of Life in Christ Jesus. Bob <>< |

Packed full of truth.. and I believe I hear that old hymn "Trust and Obey" playing in the background. |
