Our prayers rise up on silent wings
Unto the Giver of all things
And there He listens to us pray.
He helps us face what comes our way
And gives us strength when strength is due,
But sends us smiles and laughter too.
He knows we need some humor for
The ups and downs life has in store.

He comforts us when we are sad.
Helps us recall the joys we've had
And keeps our memories in place
So we can image each loved face
And promises someday we'll be
Again with friends and family,
In Heaven's splendor, where we'll stay.
It's one step closer, every day!

well the meter and rhyme are absolutely perfect but the message, of course, outshines all of that!  I enjoyed this so much.
