~The Last Day~
A letter to Jesus
~*~
Should today be the last day,
I have nothing to lay at your feet,
just a few songs sung from white music sheets
and hopeful days from  prayers I need
no crown to show deeds well done
or a  race well run,  on dreary days
no high calling fulfilled, when storms roll in,
yet,
The anchor holds,
claiming no defeat
from warfare’s battle
in the game of tug-a-war,
to gain mind and soul
for,
Through it all
the cross stands tall,
a holy place to seek your face,
~*~
Should today be the last day,
I lay me at your feet,
cover me Lord with your mercy and grace,
this Lord Jesus, I pray

This is really amazing!  I love it.  It is filled with so much truth and sincerity.  We DO need to live everyday like it is our last.
God Bless and Keep Smiling

Just so beautiful Deb ~

The anchor holds,
claiming no defeat
from warfare’s battle
in the game of tug-a-war,
to gain mind and soul
for,
Through it all
the cross stands tall,
a holy place to seek your face,

....and so very true.   Bonnie

My friend, this is beautiful.  Truth in the words and spoken from a heart that truely knows and believes.

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

Reminds me of the little drummer boy who had no gift to bring but his gift of music and you have a wonderful gift to write poetry.  What better gift to give than one's self.  A lovely poem,  Bob <><
